Make sure the mode exists
Private-room features depend on the app and version. Look at the publisher’s current instructions before planning a session. Some games use a room code, while others use invitations or friend lists.
Choose a host
One player usually starts the session and selects the mode. Confirm the player count, winning conditions and any settings before sending invitations. A quick game may not use the same rules as a full game.
Share the invitation with your group
Copy the code or link exactly as the app provides it. Send it privately to the people joining. Avoid publicly posting a room code unless you intend to invite strangers.
Check before starting
Make sure everyone appears in the room and is ready. Agree on an approximate session length. If a new player needs help, explain the controls before the first turn rather than during a timer.
When joining fails
Check app versions, the expected mode and whether the room is still open. A code can expire or refer to a room that has already started. The host can try a fresh invitation if the app allows it.
Respect the session
Use chat appropriately and let people leave when they need to. A private room is a convenient way to play together, not a reason to share account credentials or install files sent by an unfamiliar participant.
